Meet your instructor
I’ve been making films for 20+ years; Features, Docs, Series, Children’s content, Church films, commercials, advertising – pretty much whatever pays bills.
I have content on Pureflix, Amazon, Tubi, Freevee, and many others.
I have a Th.M. from DTS – first graduate with a film emphasis and a screenplay attached to my dissertation.
I have been married 20+ years and have 6 kids.
I founded Hello Coco Agency in 2022 – it creates videos, photography, and marketing materials for small businesses and entertainment companies. It also serves as the production house for my films and TV series like Guardians (now streaming on Pure Flix).
I have had the privilege to teach film studies for various homeschool communities around Texas, including the Texas Home School Coalition conferences.
I have a passion for teaching and I look forward to sharing all the things I have learned about filmmaking, distribution, & marketing I’ve learned along the way.

Instructor
Taught by a multi-award winning filmmaker with 20+ years of experience in the movie industry.
Experience
Watching how-to Youtube videos can only take a student so far. While theory is important, the value of working with a filmmaking team to bring a project from conception to completion is the best way to enter, and be successful, in the film industry.
Ease
No previous experience or equipment is required to take this course. We are looking for passionate and excited students who want to bring stories to life.
Actors
We are going to be working with professional actors from NWA & LA.
Credit
IMDb film credit is extremely valuable when it comes to building a successful movie-business career.
Work
Our goal is to provide a foundation for students to immediately begin creating paid work for themselves within the industry and help them begin building up networks of their own.
FAQs
Do I need my own equipment?
No.
What grades are eligible to attend?
9th – 12th grades.
What do I need to know before attending?
No previous filmmaking experience is required. We do recommend an excitement for film and movies and a willingness to learn.
How big are class sizes?
We are aiming for each section to fit a minimum of 15 students. Max class size will be 25 students. Limited enrollment.
Will students be on camera?
It is possible. We will be learning and conducting live examples in class to teach the various aspects of film, and therefor students will most likely be on camera at some point. No student will be required to act or do anything they are not comfortable with doing.
What software will you be teaching from?
We will primarily use Final Cut Pro and Logic software. While there are several other great programs out there at this time, the main points/practices that we will go over in this course are applicable through all and is easily shown through these programs.
What cameras will we be using?
We will be using Canon, DJI, and RED digital cameras.
What kind of movie will the students be making?
Due to the nature of film production we will not decide on the project until class size is determined. We will aim the content of the project to fit within a PG rating, however we will not actually be getting the project rated by the MPAA. Our goal is to be as family/student friendly as possible. We will also attempt to avoid political subject matter. Students will actively participate in the script selection process as well.
